Patch Notes: September 23rd, 2026

Earlier today, the servers required an emergency patch, which resulted in some pending changes being implemented ahead of schedule. This represents only a portion of the changes currently pending and includes code changes only. We will follow up with the remainder of the patch soon. The following changes were implemented: Changelog nilbog: Holyforge discipline now works. nilbog: Prior to [Jul2000], pets may be invised by players. After [Jul2000], pets may not be invised by players. nilbog: Wizard, Cleric, and Druid pets may not be buffed by anyone but their owner. nilbog: Players may not track invisible NPCs or invisible players unless they can see invisible. nilbog: Players with see invisible can now /target rogues that are hidden, or players using sneak when positioned in the rear arc. Prior to [Jul2001], players may not /target invisible or hidden players. nilbog: Resolved an issue where shadowknight NPCs would fail to use harm touch if engaged while casting another spell. nilbog: Archery no longer receives a bonus modifier based on mainhand weapon. nilbog: Archery damage scales with Dexterity instead of Strength. nilbog: Added missing rule for [Aug1999]: Rangers (archery) and rogues (throwing) can critically hit starting at level 12. nilbog: Archery and throwing weapon hits display "X was hit by non-melee for Y points of damage" followed by "You hit X for Y points of damage". nilbog: While Trueshot discipline is active: Prior to [Jan2001], bows are treated as 45 dmg; After [Jan2001] bows use actual bow damage with a delay-based dmg bonus. nilbog: Bow weapon procs no longer use mainhand weapon attack timer to calculate proc chance. nilbog: NPCs affected by player illusions (e.g. ignite bones) regain their original texture, helmtexture, and size after the illusion wears off. nilbog: Heal-over-time spells no longer generate per-tick 'You have been healed for X' messages. nilbog: Healing messages now display for heals less than 100HP. nilbog: Healing messages no longer include the caster's name for the recipient. nilbog: One-time buff heals (e.g. Courage) no longer display the amount healed. nilbog: Corrected message text for recourse healing spells (Dark Empathy, Corpal Empathy). nilbog: Direct heal spells on targets other than yourself do not display the amount healed to the caster. nilbog: Voice Graft requires your pet to be targeted and only works in the /say channel. nilbog: /pet who leader only works on your own pet. nilbog: Day and night spell restrictions now match the time shown by /time. nilbog: Resolved an issue where engaging an NPC's pet before the NPC prevented the NPC's EVENT_AGGRO messages from triggering correctly. This fix also applies to first-to-engage messages. nilbog: Resolved an issue with fishing in Sleeper's Tomb. Players may now fish there.
