Dial a Port is a community of porters, officers, and fellow adventurers. Our story is the shared work of helping players travel, welcoming new members, and building friendships, from our Project 1999 roots to the new worlds ahead.
This site brings players together across MMORPG worlds. EverQuest and Project 1999 visitors can find the established Dial a Port community and reach its existing forum without losing the conversations that made it home. Players exploring Monsters & Memories can discover a dedicated community space, read discussions, and take part in a native forum. The community pages offer a place to follow conversations, meet other adventurers, and find the right gathering place for each game.
Dial a Port is for returning guildmates, new players looking for a welcoming group, and anyone who enjoys sharing knowledge and stories about online worlds. Whether you are here to reconnect with old friends or to join a new conversation, the site is designed to make that first step easy. It is built and maintained for the community by the people behind Dial a Port, drawing on the work of its guild members and organizers. The timeline below records some of the milestones behind that shared effort and gives visitors a way to see how the community has grown over time.
Founded by Kodiakk, Dial a Port invites druids and wizards to build a shared porting service on Project 1999: a guild travelers can find through /who all dial, and a place for porters to work together.

An early recruitment update reports four guild members. The next step is a collective one: bring in more porters and turn a small group into a service other players can find.
A guild update describes DaP porters helping raid guilds during server repops and taking part in player-run events. Members are supporting more than everyday travel: they are helping other communities gather.
A traveler reports finding more DaP members available for ports than before. Public discussion gives travelers and porters a place for advice and feedback as the early idea grows into a community service.

Jaxe, Ezzlazen, and Afeni share leadership, supported by senior officers and the porters serving P99. A dated guild account describes shared rules and responsibilities behind the tag, rather than a one-person operation.

Members rebuild their porters and spell access on Green and Teal alongside the established Blue guild. Ezzlazen and Green member Ivanix describe the shared effort of starting again: leveling characters and building port coverage.
Recruitment across Blue and Green welcomes druids and wizards of all levels. Ports, transfers, and a helping hand remain the shared purpose, with new members invited to become part of the service.

10-year anniversary marker
A decade of Dial a Port
Ten years from the first public call. Earlier in this anniversary year, players on Green are still directing prospective members to the guild's own forums - another snapshot of an ongoing community.
Dial a Port is growing into Monsters & Memories, bringing our community spirit into another world while keeping our EverQuest / Project 1999 home intact.
